To perform excavation of any sidewalk, street, alley, or public place, the City of Socorro requires contractors to receive and maintain a permit. Contractors applying for a permit may choose to file a $5,000 cash deposit or a $5,000 Blanket Building and Construction Bond. The bond allows the contractor to only pay a small portion of the $5,000 upfront to get on the job site. The bond is used as a form of protection, guaranteeing the City that there is recompense available should the contractor perform dodgy work.
Jet’s price for the Socorro Blanket Building and Construction Bond is only $100. That’s it! All you have to do is click the button above, submit some basic business information, make payment, and you’ll be on your way.
Bond Limit | Cost |
---|---|
$5,000 | $100 |
Jet “digs” filing the bond to Socorro’s Planning and Zoning Department for you. If you choose to file the bond yourself, just let us know and make sure it gets to the Socorro City office at the following location:
City of Socorro
Planning & Zoning Department
860 N. Rio Vista
Socorro, TX 79927
As a contractor, it is your duty to follow the code or provide restitution for those financially harmed by your actions (either the City or members of the public). A surety bond claim may be pursued and will be paid by Jet if you fail to follow regulations. With just a cash deposit in place, in lieu of the bond, the City may just tap your deposit and require you to “fill it back up” to work again.
Jet does defend it’s bonded contractors from fraudulent claims and any City malfeasance. However, should there be a justified claim payout it is still up to you to restore the paid-out amount so you’re able to continue working as a contractor in the City of Socorro.
If you are considering doing subdivision work in the city limits of Socorro, a Subdivision Bond and Maintenance Bond may be required. Let Jet know if this applies to you - you can reach us at (855) 296-2663.
