If you are a contractor that actively works within the City of Sherman, Texas, you may need a permit, license, and/or a surety bond before any kind of construction may begin.
To be specific, contractors that are proposing sidewalk construction/repair projects require a permit and a $1,000 Concrete Bond (sometimes referred to as a Right-of-Way Bond).
Contractors that are in the business of erecting, constructing, and/or repairing roofs must receive licensure with the City as a roofing contractor. A $20,000 Roofing Contractor Bond is needed as well.
At Jet, we provide both the $1,000 Concrete Permit Bond and the $20,000 Roofing Contractor Bond for the guaranteed price of just $100 to Sherman contractors. To purchase your desired bond, simply select the “Secure Your Bond” button above to get started!

Roofing Contractor Bond | $20,000 | $100 |
According to the Sherman Development Services Department, your signed and sealed bond form must be submitted to the City Clerk’s office at the following mailing address:
City of Sherman
ATTN: City Clerk
PO Box 1106
Sherman, TX 75091
For applications and other paperwork regarding achieving licensure status, take a look at the City’s Permits webpage or Licenses webpage.
Once approval for a construction project has been given by the Development Services Department, the contractor will be expected to follow all applicable regulations pursuant to the City of Sherman, Texas Code of Ordinances as it pertains to the ins and outs of your permit/license. An omission of these requirements may result in business penalties and/or a bond claim.
The purpose of each surety bond (i.e. Concrete Bond and Roofing Contractor Bond) is to essentially protect the customer from financial losses if a contractor commits a licensure violation or breach of contract.
For example, roofing contractors must meet very specific construction standards when building or repairing a roof. So if a contractor decides to cut corners by not following these specifications because they want to get the job done quickly and at a low cost to them, a homeowner can be left with a poorly done roof. In cases where a former client finds that the roofing contractor performed poor workmanship (e.g. a leaky roof due to cracked/faulty sheathing), the contractor will be expected to either go back and complete the work up to code or pay for the reconstruction to be done. If the contractor is unable to or refuses to fulfill this obligation, the damaged party has every right to file a claim on the Roofing Contractor Bond. Funds from the surety bond will be used to reimburse the claimant for the financial losses they have incurred due to the transgression.
