Concrete contractors in the City of Lancaster must file a $1,000 Concrete Paving Bond before getting a permit. The purpose of this bond is to show the City that there is a way to reimburse those (including the city) who are injured if the contractor fails to complete the construction or repair of curbs, gutters, sidewalks, and driveway approaches.

Lancaster Concrete Paving Bond
When your purchase is complete, send the bond over to the address below if you are filing it yourself. If not, you can have Jet send it over for you!
City of Lancaster Department of Public Works 211 N Henry St Lancaster, TX 75146
Once the bond is filed, you will be held liable for your work while construction is ongoing and for maintaining the work for an additional year. The bond can be cancelled by giving 30 days’ notice to the City and to Jet Insurance Company.
As a concrete paving contractor working in Lancaster, you must follow all ordinances and regulations given by the City and fulfill the specifications of your permit; otherwise, you will pave the way for bond claims. Let’s say, for example, that you are repairing a sidewalk under your permit, and a crack appears because of the way the concrete was poured. The City will give you 10 days to fix the crack since it was caused by your actions within the 1-year maintenance period. Failure to fix the crack within 10 days will result in a claim against your Concrete Paving Bond. If Jet ends up paying out the claim, you will still be responsible for paying back the amount of the claim to restore the bond.
