According to Chapter 3, Section 3.102 of the Hallettsville Code of Ordinances, the Building Contractor Permit Bond is required by the Public Works Department to act as a financial assurance that the contractor will uphold the regulations of their permit, as well as fulfill all contractual obligations (if applicable). In cases where the contractor commits a violation or breach of contract, the client who hired them may take civil action against the contractor in hopes of filing a claim on their Building Contractor Bond. If the Texas judge rules in favor of the damaged client, the bond will cover any losses incurred by the claimant, as well as the cost of their legal fees.
