The Contractor License Bond requirement is in place by the Cuero Building Department to help ensure that city residents will be financially protected in cases where contractors violate license regulations or commit a breach of contract. For example, if an individual hires you as a building contractor for a home improvement project and you fail to complete the construction up to the standards of the contractual agreement, the damaged customer may file a claim on your Contractor License Bond to cover their financial losses. It is your responsibility to try and resolve all problems with the customer directly before license repercussions and a pricey bond claim process ensues.
According to the Cuero Building Department, your license as a building contractor will expire on December 31st each year. To qualify for a renewed license, and to maintain your license, you will need to have an active surety bond on file with the Department. This means you will likely need to renew your bond with Jet most likely on 12/31..
If you are a part of Jet’s monthly, you won’t have to worry about renewing your Contractor License Bond. The bond will remain in good standing as long as monthly payments are fulfilled or until cancellation is officially sought.
As for contractors who purchase a one-year bond term upfront, the Jet team will send you a renewal invoice for your bond far in advance of its expiration date by mail and email. We only require the standard payment due, and once completed, your bond will remain active with the City of Cuero for another term. It’s that easy!
