The City of Cibolo, Texas is known for its slogan “City of Choice”. However, if you are a contractor working within its city limits, you won’t have much of a choice when it comes to being licensed or not.
Individuals who work in construction fields such as building, moving, demolition, roofing, and/or residential home construction must be registered with the local Planning and Engineering Department. To qualify for and maintain such license, a $25,000 Contractor License Bond is required of the applicant.
Jet provides the $25,000 Contractor License Bond to Cibolo contractors for the guaranteed price of $125 for a one-year term or just $15 a month. The surety bond is an instant issue which means you won’t have to go through an elongated underwriting process which typically includes a soft credit check. All you need to do is click the “Secure Your Bond” button above to purchase the bond in a matter of minutes!
Bond Term | Cost |
---|---|
Monthly | $13 |
1 Year | $125 |
The Jet team can file your bond for you at no extra cost! However, if you would prefer to file the bond form yourself, perhaps with your license application, the option to do so may be selected at check out.
The original signed and sealed Contractor License Bond must be submitted to the Cibolo Planning and Engineering Department at the following mailing address:
City of Cibolo
Planning & Engineering Department
PO Box 826
Cibolo, TX 78108
As for the Contractor Registration Application, you may send the completed form to the address listed above or apply online at MyGov.us. This is one of those times where the city slogan applies and the choice really is yours!
The main purpose of the Contractor License Bond is to act as a form of financial assurance that the contractor will follow the regulations of their license, as well as fulfill any contractual obligations that were agreed upon with their client. If a violation is committed and remains unresolved even after the Cibolo Planning and Engineering Department gets involved, a claim may be filed upon your bond to cover any losses incurred by the damaged customer. For example, if you are working as a residential home contractor and walk off the project with no plans to complete it, this transgression is considered a breach of contract, and the damaged customer may pursue a bond claim through the Department’s complaint and investigation process pursuant to Chapter 14 of the City of Cibolo, Texas Municode.
Although you don’t have much of a choice when it comes to obtaining a contractor license and the Contractor License Bond, it is a good way to keep yourself accountable for your actions and protect the financial wellbeing of your fellow residents in the City of Cibolo.
As for renewing your Contractor License Bond, you won’t have to worry about an annual renewal if you are part of Jet’s monthly plan. Your bond will remain active with the Planning and Engineering Department as long as payments are continuously made each month.
If you purchased the Contractor License Bond in full and upfront, the Jet team will send you a renewal invoice prior to your bond’s official expiration date via mail and email. Simply complete the standard payment due and your bond will all be set for another term with the City of Cibolo.
