The Sign Removal Bond is required by the City of Baytown to act as a financial assurance that the permittee will follow all sign regulations. According to Chapter 118 of the City of Baytown, Texas Municode, this includes maintaining the sign properly and, as the name indicates, removing it once the permit has expired. If the Sign Committee sends you a written notice to fix or remove your sign, this must be completed within ten days of being sent. If you fail to fulfill this requirement, the Committee can choose to file a claim on your surety bond to cover the cost of removing the sign.
