The main purpose of the Contractor License Bond and the Service Line Permit Bond is to financially protect the City of Amarillo and its citizens from regulation violations and/or failures that are committed by the hired contractor. For example, a service line permit requires the contractor to restore the right-of-way area to its original condition once the project has been completed. If the contractor fails to fulfill this obligation, the Amarillo Planning and Development Services Department or any other damaged party may file a claim on the contractor’s surety bond to cover the costs of any financial losses they incur due to the permit transgression.

For further details on regulations to be followed for your permit and/or license type, take a look at the City of Amarillo, Texas Code of Ordinances

If you plan on continuing work as a licensed contractor or need an extension on your service line permit, you will need to renew your Contractor License/Permit Bond or your Service Line Permit Bond with the City of Amarillo. No need to worry though! Jet will send you a renewal invoice prior to your official expiration date. All you need to do is complete the standard payment due and you’ll be all set with the Department for another term. Also, if you take advantage of our monthly payment plan, you won’t have to ever worry about renewing your Contractor License/Permit Bond. Your bond will remain active as long as monthly payments are fulfilled or until cancellation is sought. It’s that easy!
