The Plumbing Contractor Bond is required by the Union County Building Department to ensure that the contractor will conduct all plumbing installations, repairs, and maintenance services up to code. The surety bond will also act as a financial guarantee for the Building Department if a license violation is committed. For example, if the plumbing contractor completes a project that is not up to county regulations and refuses to resolve the issue, the Department may file a claim on the plumber’s bond to cover the costs of hiring a new plumbing contractor to finish the project up to county standards.
