According to the Stark County, Ohio Plumbing Code and Amendments, the Plumber Surety Bond is required to ensure that the plumbing contractor will comply with the regulations of their license and the county ordinances. If the licensee commits a violation that leads to financial damages for the Health Department or a person of the public, the surety bond may be used as restitution for losses incurred by the harmed party. For example, if a plumbing contractor is hired by the Department for a plumbing installation project and commits a breach of contract by refusing to complete the job up to code, the Department may file a claim on the licensee’s bond to cover the costs of hiring a new plumbing contractor to finish the installation job properly.
Plumbing contractor licenses expire on January 31st each year. To qualify for an approved renewal, your Plumbing Contractor Bond must be active with the Health Department. With this in mind, the Jet team will send you a renewal invoice prior to your bond expiration date by mail and email. Just fulfill the standard payment due and your surety bond will remain active with Stark County for another term.
