According to the City of Miamisburg Ordinances, the Sewer Permit Bond is required of contractors who are performing installations or the maintenance of street, storm, and/or sanitary sewer work that is along a water main, curb, gutter, or sidewalk. The surety bond ensures the City that the contractor will abide by the regulations of their permit, as well as uphold all sewer construction standards. If the contractor commits a violation such as refusing to complete the permitted project, the bond will act as a financial guarantee for the Engineering Department so that they may hire a new contractor to complete the sewer job properly.
