The Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Division of Wildlife requires hunting and fishing sales agent license applicants to acquire a Hunting and Fishing License Bond.
Jet provides the Ohio Hunting and Fishing License Bond as an assurance to the Division of Wildlife that the sales and issuance of licenses, permits, and stamps will be done up to State regulations. The surety bond is a financial guarantee should the sales agent fail to promptly and accurately transfer all sales transactions to the Division.
The Ohio Hunting and Fishing License Bond limit is determined by the Chief of the Division of Wildlife and is typically based on the estimated value of license sales to be made by the agent.
Jet’s prices are only a small percentage of the custom bond limit, based on the bond amount and the personal credit of the applicant. Bond limits of $10,000 or less start at $100 annually or $10 monthly. You can find additional low rates at different bond amounts in the chart below.
Bond Term | Monthly | Annual |
---|---|---|
$10,000 | $10 | $10 |
$25,000 | $25 | $100 |
Jet’s monthly payments are a great option for sales agents looking to uphold their license status with the Division for the long haul. Just set up your preferred account and your bond will remain active for as long as you want!

Sales agents selling and issuing fishing and hunting licenses, deer and trapping permits, and wetlands habitat stamps in Ohio are expected to comply with the terms and conditions under Chapter 1533 of the Ohio Revised Code. Failure to comply may result in the Division of Wildlife inflicting penalties such as fines, the termination of your license, and/or a bond claim.
Hunting and Fishing License Bond claims are typically filed by the Division of Wildlife Chief if a member finds that a sales agent has not properly transferred all sale fees gathered for licenses, permits, or stamps that were issued. For example, selling a fishing license to an Ohio resident and then keeping the funds of the sale rather than submitting it to the Division is a Code violation and grounds for a bond claim.
The Division of Wildlife Chief will file an official claim on your bond to cover financial losses caused by such violations. It is in your best interest to act honorably and work with the Division to resolve the issue before a loss of license and an expensive bond claim arises.
Should a bond claim occur, immediately contact Jet with all available information. Jet will begin by briefing you on how our claim process work and proceed with an investigation of the Division’s bond claim.
Hunting and Fishing License Bond claims that are determined valid by Jet must be paid out, not to exceed the bond limit. As a sales agent, you are ultimately responsible for your actions and must reimburse us for your paid bond claim. An omission to do so may result in future difficulties obtaining surety bonds in Ohio, particularly bonds that are needed for various licenses.
