The Fairborn Building Code and Inspection Division requires electricians, mechanical contractors, and contractors who are working on a right-of-way project to acquire a Contractor Bond to ensure that the contractor abides by all rules and regulations of their license or permit. If the contractor commits a license transgression, the surety bond will act as a financial guarantee to cover the damaged party’s losses. For example, electricians that cause harm or destruction during the installation or maintenance of electrical work are liable for the damages.
