The surety company (Jet) will reimburse up to the bond's limit for valid damages caused by a contractor. This is not immediately done but in cases where the contractor fails to make amends themselves, which can be done by upholding their warranty or paying restitution the City has deemed necessary.

These bonds are required by the City to make sure that contractors who are cutting into the streets, highways, easements, or other right-of-ways will restore the site to a usable condition and follow the Dayton General Ordinances, Chapter 95.
Plumbing and Pipe-Laying Registration Bond
Plumbing and pipe-laying contractors must be mindful of the sites where they access sewer systems or fire suppression systems. The bond will indemnify the City if the contractor does not restore the area according to Chapter 50 of the Dayton General Ordinances.
Warm Air Heating Registration Bond
These contractors must follow Chapter 114, Division 2 of the Dayton General Ordinances. Any damage caused by the altering, repairing, installing, or maintenance of heating and/or cooling systems can result in a bond claim.
Electrical Registration Bond
Electrical contractors are required to fulfill their contractual obligations according to the Dayton General Ordinances, Chapter 113, Division 1 when working on fixed electrical equipment or wiring. The bond pays out for faulty work or negligence.
