Registration expires at the end of each year (December 31st). $10,000 Contractor Bond

This is required for contractors who deal with any construction, altering, or remodeling of buildings or structures in Cleveland Heights. Expectations for conduct can be found in the Building Code of the City of Cleveland Heights; a contractor who does not complete the contract, violates code, fails to uphold warranty or fails to pay vendors (among other things) can have a claim filed against the bond. 

$5,000 Sewer Builder Bond

A Sewer Builder Bond is a licensing requirement for those involved in the construction, repairs, alterations, reconstructions, etc., of drainage systems in Cleveland Heights that are accessed through streets or highways. The bond is meant to protect against a sewer builder leaving a project unfinished and leaving the roadways blocked.

Contractors removing snow or performing landscaping work need this bond under Section 751.03 of the Cleveland Heights Codified Ordinances. The bond guarantees the City that contractors will complete the contract and not dump snow or yard waste into public roadways or private property.
