The Chagrin Falls Contractor Bond is required by the Building and Zoning Department to ensure that the contractor follows all rules and regulations of their license which includes local building codes and any contractual obligations. If the contractor commits a license violation that causes financial losses for the city or a member of the public, the surety bond may be used as restitution for damages endured by the harmed party. 

It is important to note that a claim may not be filed on the Contractor Registration Bond beyond the two years of the contractor’s license expiration.
