Avon Lake, Ohio Contractor License Bond and Contractor Landscape Bond

The City of Avon Lake Building Department requires contractors to be licensed with the City Building Inspector. The Department also asks that the applicant file a $15,000 Contractor License Bond to achieve an approved license. 

If you are a landscaper contractor or if you operate a snowplow within the city limits, you will need to be licensed with the Public Works Engineering Department, and a $5,000 Contractor Landscape Bond must be obtained.

According to the Avon Lake Building Department, if you are applying for the Contractor License Bond, the completed Contractor License Application Packet and original signed and sealed surety bond form must be sent to the following mailing address:

The City of Avon Lake’s Building and Public Works Department requires contractors to obtain these surety bonds to ensure that the contractor will comply with all rules and regulations of their license. If violations are committed that cause harm to the city or property of the public, both the Contractor License Bond and the Landscape Contractor Bond will act as restitution for losses incurred by the damaged party.
