City of Avon
Building Department

Avon, OH 44011
The Avon Building Department requires the Contractor Bond to ensure that the licensed contractor will perform all permitted construction, alterations, repairs, remodeling of any building or structure within the city up to code, as well as leave the area clean/restored and free of any violations. If the Department finds that any violations to the city or the public have been caused by the contractor, the surety bond will act as restitution for losses incurred should the contractor refuse or not be available to make restitution for their violation.
All surety bond claims are handled by their Chief Building Official. It is the City's goal to mediate complaints and find a resolution that suits the public and the contractors. It is when this process breaks down that the surety company gets involved. Notify Jet if you have a bond claim made against you. We have a duty to offer you advise to prevent issues from escalating to a claim payout.
This bond has a common expiration date of December 31st each year. The City of Avon wants the renewed bond form to be submitted between December 1st and the 31st (don't send during the holidays if you want to avoid troubles).
Whether you have a monthly, annual or multi-year bond, as long as payments are current, Jet will send you the original, updated bond form to file with the City.
