Town of Palm Beach
360 South County Rd
Palm Beach, FL 33480
The Palm Beach, FL Code of Ordinances lists the following bond requirements, which may be enforced to operate in the Town.
Alarm Business Surety Bond
A $10,000 surety bond may be required to obtain an alarm business permit to work within Palm Beach. The bond protects the Town from alarm business negligence, deception, and fraud leading to financial damage.
Right-of-Way Permit Bonds
Those working within a public right-of-way within Palm Beach, Florida may need to secure a Permit Bond or Performance Bond to guarantee the project is completed appropriately and that the area is restored to its original or better condition. For example, communication facility operators are often mandated to purchase a Performance Bond to hold the operator liable during their time occupying the right-of-way. Failure to uphold obligations and follow rules and regulations may result in a bond claim.
Demolition Permit Bonds
To secure a demolition permit in Palm Beach, applicants must get a bond in an amount established by the town council. With demolition being a risky venture, it makes sense the Town would impose the surety bond requirement as a way to financially recover in cases where damage is caused that is outside the scope of the project and the contractor refuses or fails to address it in a timely manner.
Bond to Preserve Historic and Specimen Trees
The Town of Palm Beach’s Public Works Department may enforce a bond for any person applying for a permit to build or otherwise work on a property that contains a historic/specimen tree. The bond would be in an amount sufficient to protect said tree(s) and must remain in effect for 60 days beyond the completion of the construction. Should a tree be damaged, work may be stopped and the bond may be tapped to provide compensation for the financial harm.
Mangrove Removal Bond
If someone is requesting mangrove tree removal, a Performance Bond may need to be filed with the Town of Palm Beach. The bond holds the applicant accountable should they fail to fulfill the mitigation strategy, which includes relocating the mangrove tree(s) successfully. The Town can file a claim to receive recompense when there is improper reforestation and no resolution.
