License and Permit Bond Details

According to the Fort Meade, FL Municode, the following bond requirements may be enforced by the City government:

Mobile Home Set-Up Bond - Before a mobile home set-up permit may be issued to a contractor, a $25,000 Mobile Home Set-Up Bond must be filed with the City Clerk. The bond financially ensures that permit standards are to be upheld by the contractor. Upon inspection, the City will notify the contractor of possible poor workmanship or inferior materials. The contractor is responsible for making any necessary changes to the work within 10 days of receiving notice from the City to do so. Failure to fulfill this request may lead to a bond claim.

Noncompliance Right-of-Way Bond - If the City finds that a permitted contractor has not completed construction within a public right-of-way properly or if damages have been caused, a Noncompliance Right-of-Way Bond will be required. The bond limit is determined by the Public Works Department. The work ordered by the City is to be completed within 30 days of notice. A claim will be filed on the contractor’s bond if the request is not executed properly.

Right-of-Way Performance Bond - Communications services providers must file a $250,000 Right-of-Way Performance Bond with the Public Works Department before hired contractors may construct or perform maintenance upon a communications service facility that is located within a public right-of-way area in Fort Meade. In addition, a $15,000 Right-of-Way Restoration Bond may be required by the City to ensure that once the permit project is completed, the right-of-way area will be restored to its original or better condition. Negligence, poor workmanship, the use of faulty materials, property damage, or any other violation to permit regulations may result in a bond claim.

Franchise Solid Waste Management Bond - An annual $200,000 Franchise Solid Waste Management Bond is required for facilities that provide garbage, recycling, and other solid waste material services as a franchise with the City of Fort Meade. If construction, maintenance, or repairs are to be completed upon a facility, a Construction Performance Bond is also required to ensure compliance with construction regulations. The bond limit is to be equal to 110% of the estimated cost of the project. A violation of franchise license or construction permit regulations may lead to the City filing a claim upon either bond.
