Working in Charlotte County means that you’ll have to be operating in agreement with the Charlotte County Code of Ordinances, as they pertain to your license or permit. You are liable for any damages that are caused by you breaking the obligations of the bond
There are several surety bonds that are mentioned in the Charlotte County Code of Ordinances. Bonds that may be required are listed below:
- Right-of-way Permit Bond - a Right-of-Way Bond would be required for one of two reasons: (1) before beginning restoration work within a public right-of-way, or (2) when the building department approves a certificate of occupancy prior to work in the right of way being completed. The bonds are essentially the same but start at different points in a permitted project’s lifestyle. In either case, the bond would protect against damages should the contractor break any rules, regulations, or obligations put in place by the County. This bond may need to be renewed if work is not completed prior to the end of the permit; the bond will also be kept in place up to one year after the completion of work for any maintenance work
- Subdivision Improvements Bond - conditioned on the completion of improvements
- Tree Bond - used in lieu of a cash/certified check security deposit, the Tree Bond is conditioned on completing tree installation within 90 days of the issuance of a certificate of occupancy. The bond will be released following an inspection; if trees are not properly installed within the given time, the bond will be forfeited to the native tree replacement fund
- Outdoor Festival Bond - a promoter of an outdoor festival (typically a musical concert)is obligated to pay for any damages to property and for the cost of refuse collection. Failure to do so will result in the County fulfilling these obligations and seeking reimbursement from the surety bond
- Franchised Cable Operator Bond - protects the County from losses on a franchised cable operator’s property should the property be forfeited other than by acquisition by the County. This Performance Bond must be renewed each year.
- Type 2 Temporary Use Permit Bond - to be held in a $50,000 bond limit, benefiting any person who undergoes financial hardship caused by temporary use that violates the terms of the permit
When your bond term is nearing its end, Jet will send you a renewal notice. If you need to renew your bond (perhaps for annual license renewal or an extension for your work permit), just fill out the notice. If additional information is needed, our team will reach out to you.
