To be eligible for an approved construction, excavation, or right-of-way crossing permit, the Aventura Public Works and Transportation Department may require an Engineering Permit Bond from the contractor.
The City of Aventura may require other licensees and permittees to obtain a surety bond as well, such as for the Green Building Program and Temporary Structure Removal (Modular Building).
The cost of the bond is dependent on the bond limit and the personal credit of the applicant.
For example, prices for up to a $10,000 bond limit start at $100 for a one-year bond term. To begin the purchasing process, select the “View Your Bond Price” button above.
The Engineering Permit Bond limit is determined by the Public Works and Transportation Department and is likely based on the type of permit needed and the total cost of the construction project.
Additional custom limits and Jet’s starting rates can be found in the price chart below.
Bond Limit | Cost |
---|---|
Up to $10,000 | $100 |
$25,000 | $188 |
$50,000 | $375 |
$80,000 | $600 |
The original signed and sealed Engineering Permit Bond, along with any other required permit paperwork, must be submitted to the City’s Public Works and Transportation Department at the following mailing address:
City of Aventura
Public Works and Transportation Department
19200 West Country Club Drive
Aventura, FL 33180
For other bonds, if no filing address is provided, you can send the signed bond to the City of Aventura at the same address.
All applicable regulations pursuant to the Aventura, FL Municode must be followed to ensure compliance and to avoid issues.
Regarding the Engineering Permit Bond, once construction has concluded and it has been determined by the Department that all permit standards have been met, the contractor must restore the surrounding public area that may have been impacted by the construction. As soon as this occurs, the Engineering Permit Bond will be released of liability. However, if a permit violation is committed and remains unresolved by the contractor, the Department may file a claim on the bond. Funds from the bond will be used as a means of restitution for any financial losses incurred by the city or its residents.
