Florida Alcohol Tax Bond

Florida Alcoholic Beverage Tax Bond

Manufacturers, distributors, and exporters of alcoholic beverages need to file an Alcoholic Beverage Tax Bond (AKA Alcohol Tax Bond) with the Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco along with their license application. The Division mandates the bond as a guarantee that it will receive tax payments that are due.

An Alcohol Tax Bond is a licensing requirement for beer and wine distributors, beer and wine manufacturers, spirituous beverage distributors, and bonded warehouses.

What Is the Price of the Florida Alcohol Tax Bond?

Your Alcohol Tax Bond can cost as low as $10 a month or $100 a year with Jet. The actual cost of your bond is based on a credit check and your bond limit, which must meet the specifications of your license type (more on that below). Additional financial information may also be required as the limit increases. The chart below shows starting rates at different limits.

What Is the Limit for My Alcoholic Beverages Tax Bond?

The required bond limits for the Florida Alcohol Tax Bond are found in Section 561.37 of the Florida Statutes. Based on the Statutes, each bond has a set limit. That being said, the Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco will allow the bond limit to be lowered if the amount of business warrants a lower limit (and will hold enough coverage). Take a look at the chart to find your license type and what the bond limit is automatically set at. The chart also shows what amount the bond cannot be lower than. Keep in mind that the bond cannot be higher than the original limit.
