Florida Seller of Travel Bond

Florida Seller of Travel Bond

Travel agencies in the State of Florida are required to have a Sellers of Travel Surety Bond, otherwise known as a Travel Agent Bond. The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) oversees the registration of sellers of travel, including this surety bond provision.

QUOTE

Jet Insurance Company provides the Seller of Travel Bond to act as a financial assurance to the FDACS that the applicant will uphold applicable license regulations, as well as all contractual obligations. If a violation is committed, such as misrepresentation, fraud, or a breach of contract, the bond may be used as a means of restitution by the damaged party. Basically, protecting travel agent’s customers from any financial damage suffered due to the agent not providing the trip agreed upon.

How Is the Florida Seller of Travel Bond Limit Determined?

The bond limit is determined by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and is based on the number of operations offered by the travel business.

Listed below are the custom bond limits required for each tier of travel services provided.

What Is the Cost of the Florida Seller of Travel Bond?

At Jet, the cost of the Seller of Travel Bond is a small percentage of the bond limit. Rates are based on the credit score of the applicant and possibly a review of financial statements and customer contract provisions. A Jet team member will give you a call following your application if additional information is needed.

For example, prices for a $25,000 Seller of Travel Bond begin at $250 for a one-year term or a convenient $25 a month.

Florida Travel Agent Bond Process With Jet

Jet’s application for the Travel Agent Bond begins online with Jet gathering some general information we need (e.g. your contact details, required bond limit, and your social security number). You can also call us at (855) 296-2663 to get it started.

Once submitted, a Jet underwriter will review the initial application and determine if additional information is needed to quote the bond, such as business financials or your boilerplate customer contract. As soon as this step has been completed, Jet will provide you with a rate for purchase, which can be done online.

Jet can file your surety bond for you at no extra cost. However, if you would prefer to file the bond form yourself, the option to do so may be selected at checkout.
